Faye Friesen is currently the Library Media Specialist at Hastings High School where she not only works with books but computers too. She received her undergraduate degree BA Ed English/Media from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, her MLS from Emporia State College and MA Ed English also from UNK. Prior to her position in Hastings, Faye worked at the Edith Abbot Public Library in Grand Island for 5 years. She serves on the Hastings Public Library board of trustees and has presented at the NLA/NEMA Conference in the past and will do so again this year. Faye loves Apple computers, video editing and YA Literature. Notable endeavors include an ongoing research project on Robert Ball Anderson, the first Black homesteader in Nebraska, an in-school streaming radio station run by students and live streaming Tiger football games. This school year she is jumping head first into eBooks and somewhat optimistic that everything will work out fine | |||||||||||||
